Description
Yin Qiao San is a classical formula that releases the exterior, disperses Wind-Heat, and clears toxins. Traditionally, it is indicated for early-stage febrile illness, sore throat, headache, and mild fever due to Wind-Heat invasion. In modern functional use, it is commonly applied for upper respiratory tract infections, pharyngitis, and other early-stage viral illnesses to relieve symptoms and prevent disease progression.
Traditional Indications
Wind-heat attacking the Lungs, Wen Bing - Wei Stage Wind-Heat, dry heat, summer heat with dampness, damp heat
Typical symptoms include:
- Cough or mild thirst
- Early-stage Wind-Heat invasion
- Fever with slight chills
- Floating, rapid pulse; thin, white or slightly yellow tongue coat
- Headache
- Red eyes
- Sore throat or throat discomfort
Modern Clinical Applications
