Description
Er Chen Tang (Two-Cured Decoction) is a foundational formula for drying Dampness, transforming Phlegm, and regulating Qi. Traditionally, it addresses cough, nausea, and chest fullness due to Phlegm-Damp accumulation. In modern practice, it is applied for chronic respiratory disorders, digestive issues, and dizziness associated with phlegm obstruction.
Traditional Indications
Cough with profuse white sputum, a sensation of fullness in the chest, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, palpitations.
Typical symptoms include:
- Dizziness or palpitations
- Chest and epigastric fullness or distention
- Coughing with copious, white, easily expectorated sputum
- Nausea, vomiting, or loss of appetite
Modern Clinical Applications
Chronic bronchitis, chronic gastritis, nasal discharge, Meniere's disease, and phlegm-related nodules or lumps.
Commonly applied in contemporary use for:
- Chronic bronchitis, asthma, or COPD with phlegm-damp
