Thyme Essential Oil
Thyme is also known as Thymus Satureioides from Morroco
Our Thyme Essential Oil is wildcrafted from the flowering tops. Thymus satureioides (Moroccan Borneol Thyme) is highly valued in aromatherapy for its exceptional physical bracing and stimulating qualities. Because it is rich in the chemical constituent borneol rather than the highly irritating thymol found in standard thyme, it is much gentler on the skin and respiratory system while remaining highly effective.
Aromatherapy and home use include and is not limited to:
- Respiratory Support: It acts as a powerful expectorant to clear deep congestion, making it excellent for winter ailments, chronic coughs, and bronchitis
- Immune & Tonic Booster: It stimulates the nervous and immune systems, helping to combat chronic fatigue, burnout, and physical exhaustion.
- Muscle & Joint Relief: Its warming, circulatory-boosting properties help soothe sore muscles, arthritis, and joint pain.
Thymus satureioides (commonly known as Moroccan Thyme or Borneol Thyme) has a robust, savory, and herbaceous aroma. It smells strongly of traditional thyme but with a distinctive medicinal, woody depth, featuring fresh camphor and subtle spicy, balsamic, and pine-like undertones.
- Herbaceous & Savory: It carries a deep, green, herbal quality that is reminiscent of autumn herbs and savory cooking.
- Camphorous & Woody: Due to its uniquely high concentration of the compound borneol, it has an earthy, slightly cooling, and pine-like depth.
- Medicinal & Spicy: Like most thyme varieties, it possesses a phenolic, pungent, and slightly bitter medicinal kick.
Best Blending Partners
- For Respiratory Relief: Blend with Eucalyptus radiata, Ravintsara, or Niaouli.
- For Fatigue & Focus: Blend with Lemon, Bergamot, or Rosemary verbenone.
- For Grounding & Pain: Blend with Frankincense, Sweet Marjoram, or Scotch Pine.
Thyme Essential Oil is steam distilled from the flowers.
Safety Precautions
